Andrei Riskin was born in Moscow, Russia in 1975. Continuing family tradition in visual arts he graduated with a bachelor degree in 1997 and started his career in photography in 2000. He completed his education in San Francisco under guidance of such masters as Frank Espada and Holman Turner.

In 2005-2009 Andrei had three personal artshows: "Russia, untitled", "Observations" and "Single mother project" . His photo essays were exhibited in CameraWork SF and Photoworks SF, as well as published by Transformation, Terra Nova, 591 Photography and Apraksin Blues magazines.

He currently lives and works in San Francisco and dedicates most of his time to editorial and portrait photography as well as a social photo documentaries about working lives of caregivers - "Old man's place" and "Duet".
